Steven Page Prepares His First Solo Project Since Leaving BNL
Posted: July 26, 2010
TORONTO (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) -- Former Barenaked Ladies and frontman Steve Page is set to release his first solo effort since he departed the band he helped to found.

The new album, "Page One", is set to drop on Anthem/Universal Music Canada on September 28th with the first single "Indecision" available for sale as a digital download starting on July 27.

Page enlisted Stephen Duffy and Craig Northey (The Odds) as co-writers for Page One, and the album was co-produced by Steven and John Fields (Jimmy Eat World, The Replacements); the two playing most instruments, along with guests Pete Thomas (Elvis Costello); Esthero; Glen Phillips (Toad the Wet Sprocket); Kevin Fox; Prince’s NPG brass section, The Hornheads; Bryden, Jesse and Jay Baird (Feist); and the late Will Owsley in one of his last recordings.

Page has been busy in the past few years and in addition to his work with BNL, he's also composed the score for three productions at Ontario’s Stratford Shakespeare Festival, and in 2005 he released his first solo album, The Vanity Project. Earlier this year, he released A Singer Must Die, a collaboration with the Toronto chamber music group, Art of Time Ensemble. - CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
