Ed Bicknell
Bicknell Splits With WMA
Posted: February 22, 2008
LONDON (VIP News) -- Ed Bicknell, head of international music for the William Morris Agency, has announced that he is leaving the company to return to "civilian life."

WMA worldwide head of music Peter Grosslight says in a prepared statement that Bicknell did "an incredible job in setting up WMA's expanded U.K. music operation. Now that we are fully up and running, Ed has decided to move on."

Bicknell opened the London office about a year and a half ago to complement the Los Angeles international operation. Seven agents were brought into the WMA London fold to focus on the international marketplace, integrating with the pre-existing Los Angeles based international team.

Over the past year and a half, WMA has booked 3,100 shows internationally and added 140 clients to its international music roster including such artists as Foo Fighters, White Stripes, Take That, Fat Boy Slim, Bjork, the Prodigy, Girls Aloud, and Madness, joining clients such as: the Killers, Kanye West, Incubus, the Eagles, Nine Inch Nails, Alicia Keys, Josh Groban, and Rihanna.

Before joining WMA Bicknell was a very successful artist manager, with such clients as Dire Straits, Mark Knopfler, Bryan Ferry, Gerry Rafferty, and the Blue Nile. Bicknell opened the London office about a year and a half ago to compliment L.A. international operation.

Grosslight will continue to closely oversee the international music operation, working with senior music staff Tony Goldring, David Levy, Solomon Parker and Russell Warby, according to Billboard.
