Two Arrested In Iowa R&B Concert Scam
Posted: June 29, 2006
DUBUQUE, Iowa (AP) -- Concert goers in Dubuque expected to see R&B artists Chris Brown, Ciara and Chamillionaire tomorrow.

Instead they saw a pair of arrests.

Police took Jeffrey Revis, of Chapel, Florida, and Charles Warthan, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, into custody yesterday on charges of first-degree theft. Police say they were a part of scheme that led more than one-thousand people to buy tickets to a concert at the Dubuque County Fairgrounds.

The only problem was that musical acts scheduled to play weren't aware of the concert.

A publicist for Chris Brown spoke to fair association earlier this week and told them Brown was out of the country. Ciara and Chamillionaire also had no idea people thought they'd be in Iowa this week.

Revis and Warthan were arrested after they showed up to collect money from two businesses that were selling tickets to the phony concert. They face up to 10 years in jail if they're convicted.
