PS 22 Chorus
NYC 5th Grade Chorus Lands Famous Fans Via YouTube
Posted: June 26, 2009
NEW YORK (AP) -- There's something different about a group of fifth-graders graduating this week in New York City.

They're members of the Public School 22 chorus on Staten Island. And they have fans like Ashton Kutcher, Tori Amos and 6 million others who've heard them sing on YouTube.

Their music teacher, Greg Breinberg, has a knack for publicity.

First, he taught them hits by artists like Amos, Journey and Coldplay. Then he put their singing on YouTube, and the world took notice.

Friday is the children's last day of school. They'll be singing for Mayor Michael Bloomberg at a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a Staten Island hospital.
