Robbie Williams Pulls Out Of MTV Awards Gig
Posted: October 30, 2009
LONDON (AP) -- Robbie Williams has pulled out of his scheduled performance at next week's MTV Europe Music Awards, citing a scheduling conflict.

The network says the singer will not perform during Thursday's ceremony at a Berlin arena. He remains an award nominee in the Best Male category.

Jay-Z, Foo Fighters and Shakira are scheduled to perform during the show, which includes a live gig by U2 in front of the Brandenburg Gate.

The winners of the awards, which are presented in a different European country each year, are selected by fans across the continent.

Former Take That singer Williams recently completed his first album in three years, "Reality Killed the Video Star." Last week he played a well-received comeback gig at London's Roundhouse.
