Shawn Phillips To Reunite With Donovan For Sunshine Superman Anniversary Concert

LONDON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) -- Folk-rock pioneer and Donovan collaborator will rejoin Donovan for a performance commemorating the 45th anniversary of Donovan's classic album "Sunshine Superman" at London's Royal Albert Hall on June 3, 2011 with The London Contemporary Orchestra and other special guests.

Phillips, formerly Donovan's roommate during the sixties, helping to introduce the sitar sound into pop music on "Sunshine Superman." Phillips also tutored former Beatle George Harrison in the instrument and was a session player on other Donovan albums, including "Fairytale" and "Mellow Yellow."

During his career on A&M Records, Phillips' made some of his most well know albums, Contribution, Second Contribution, Collaboration and Faces. The singles, "Lost Horizon", "We" and "Woman" were Billboard charted hits and received worldwide radio play. Phillips has sold more than 9 million copies of his 20 albums, and in 2010, he took his successful "50th Anniversary Tour" to over 60 cities throughout the U.S. and Canada.
