Maroon 5 & Train Stage Indiana State Fair Benefit
Posted: August 19, 2011
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) -- Maroon 5 and Train came together to stage a concert on behalf of the victims of the Indiana State Fair tragedy with some help from the generous folks at the Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Thursday, August 18th.

Both bands have agreed to donate the proceeds of the event, including their artist fees to help the families of those killed in the Indiana State Fair stage collapse.

"It wouldn't be right to come in here and not give all this, these earnings to people who need it the most and so that just made sense." Train frontman Pat Monahan told local NBC affiliate WTHR.

Originally, the two bands had been set to perform together on the Indiana State Fair grandstand stage with more than 11,000 tickets sold but the event was preempted by Saturday's storm.

"We are supposed to be on that very stage today and I know a lot of our fans were looking forward to this show," Train guitarist Jimmy Stafford told WTHR.

The concert is expected to raise more than 500,000 in relief funds. - CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
