Two Dead In Argentinian Concert Crush

SANTIAGO, Chile (CelebrityAccess) -- Two people are dead and more than a dozen were hospitalized in a crowd press during a concert by beloved Argentinian singer Indio Solari in the Chilean town of Olavarria.

According to the Associated Press, Olavarria Mayor Ezequiel Galli said officials had been expecting between 160,000 to 170,000 fans for the concert, but far more than were expected turned out for the show. Solari is wildly popular in the region, but rarely performs.

“The situation got out of hand. That many people really weren’t expected,” Galli told a news conference.

The AP reported that Solari paused the show several times and at one point, called for help for someone who had fallen in the crowd.
