Blake Shelton To Hold Charitable Concert
Posted: April 20, 2007
ADA, Okla. (AP) -- Craig Morgan, Neal McCoy and Steve Holy will join Blake Shelton for a concert in his hometown as part of a festival this weekend to raise money for charity.

The concert Tuesday at East Central University will be the conclusion of a four-day Raindance II festival that also includes an archery tournament and a team roping event.

A guitar autographed by the four country music singers will also be auctioned off.

Proceeds will benefit Project Rebuild, an organization that builds homes for Oklahomans in need. The first annual Raindance festival, organized last May after wildfires spread across Oklahoma in 2005 and 2006, raised $133,000 for Project Rebuild.

Founder Sharilyn Young said that was enough for Project Rebuild to build six homes.

"When I saw how some of my Oklahoma neighbors were so deeply affected by natural disasters, I felt I had to do something," Shelton, 30, said. "Raindance is a good fit for me. I enjoy all the events and, hopefully, so do a lot of other people."
