Live Nation Announces Blender Theatre At Gramercy
Posted: April 24, 2007
NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) -- Live Nation and Blender Magazine have announced a new affiliation to launch the Blender Theatre at Gramercy club, in the location of the former Gramercy Theatre in Manhattan. The 600-capacity venue will be launched with a kick off party on Thursday, April 26th featuring Wolfmother.

The Blender Theatre at Gramercy will host more than 250 live music performances annually, with shows by Rufus Wainwright, Grant Lee Phillips, Pretty Girls Make Graves, The Knitters, Lacuna Coil, Bebel Gilberto and Jedi Mind Tricks already on the books.

“To align New York City’s hippest new music venue with one of the coolest music magazines around, makes perfect sense for us,” Bruce Eskowitz, Live Nation’s CEO of North American Music, said in a statement. “We look forward to a long affiliation with Blender as we continue to bring live music's hottest acts to the city in an incredible new music venue.”

“We are delighted to enter into this unique relationship with Live Nation,” said Stephen Colvin, CEO of Dennis Publishing, who prints Blender. “It provides us the opportunity to bring to life that which, in just 5 short years, has established Blender as the ‘must read’ music magazine – a passion for new and emerging artists across all modern music genres.”

The opening event will kick off at 8:30 p.m., featuring David Johansen of the New York Dolls as the evening’s DJ, with a performance by hard rock group Wolfmother. --by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
