The article went on to describe a snafu involving one of the large video screens that Rain uses during his concert, stating that the screen required a safety certification and that Yellow 9 was not informed until the day of the event, making the proper paperwork impossible to obtain. Kim asserts that because of these factors, they were forced to scrap the date.

V2B has issued a statement on their website refuting these claims. According to V2B, work was proceeding on-schedule for the show at the Staples Center until it was discovered that the aforementioned LED video display system was discovered to not be U/L Underwriters Laboratories) certified, thus prompting Staples Center staff to refuse to allow it to be installed. V2B's statement further claims that all production staff had been paid their required deposits or in some cases, in full by load-in time.

According to the statement, V2B and local production crews had removed the problematic equipment from the stage and had still managed to get all the sound, pyro, lights and most of the stage up when they were notified of the show being canceled, a decision that had been reached without consolation with V2B.
