Britain’s New Model Army Cancels US Tour After Visa Issues
Posted: September 6, 2007
LONDON (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) -- British band New Model Army has dropped off their upcoming fall tour after problems with immigration officials in the United States.

The band’s applications for visas were denied by the U.S. Customs and Immigration board, with no official reason given by the group. An official statement expressed puzzlement from the band regarding the decision.

“We're really puzzled by this refusal to issue visas,” frontman Justin Sullivan said in statement. “Over the last few years, we've worked a lot in America, building up to this tour with a well received album, good press and good ticket sales. And during this time we've encountered no problems with the authorities and have been received with courtesy and hospitality throughout the country.”

The tour was set to begin last night in Philadelphia, with dates across North America through the beginning of October. --by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
