Hampton's Social Concert Series Concludes Successfully
Posted: September 10, 2007
EAST HAMPTON, NY (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) -- Tom Petty, in his first live appearance this year, helped to wind down the successful Social concert series held this past summer in the Hamptons region of New York. More than 1,600 guests shelled out $3,000 per ticket for the Petty show, which, according to Lizzie Grubman, a publicist for the event was the best attended of the series. Other shows in the series featured Matthews, Billy Joel, and James Taylor.

Held at the Ross School in the East Hamptons, the series raised some eyebrows when it was announced earlier this year with season passes that cost $15,000. Now that $15,000 may seem like a lot of dough but the price of admission includes an open bar, gourmet food, an intimate concert setting and hired goons to shoo away the hoi polloi. A reporter for a local newspaper, The East Hampton Star attended the event and taking an informal straw pole, found that most people didn't opt for season passes but at least some went to multiple shows.

According to the The East Hampton Star, Grubman called the show a "tremendous success" and said that Bulldog Entertainment was hard at work on plans for next year. - CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
