Marilyn Manson Cancels Tour Dates After On Stage Accident

NEW YORK (CelebrityAccess) -- Industrial rock icon Marilyn Manson is recuperating at home following a dramatic stage accident that saw Manson crushed under a falling stage set during a performance in New York on Saturday night.

The set piece, consisting of two large gun props attached to a scaffold, fell over onto Manson as he appeared to attempt to climb onto it during his performance at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom.

In videos of the incident posted to by fans to social media, stage crew and band members can be seen lifting the prop off the singer, who remains on the ground. Eyewitnesses reported that Manson lay on stage for up to 15 minutes before he was taken to hospital on a stretcher.

In a statement, Manson's publicist told the BBC: "Marilyn Manson is being forced to cancel several of his October dates on his forthcoming US tour.

"On Saturday night, the legendary performer suffered an injury on stage towards the end of his set at NYC's Hammerstein Ballroom causing him to cut the show short.

"He was treated for the injury at a local hospital and will be recuperating at home in Los Angeles.

The nature of Manson's injuries was not disclosed.
